Health Considerations

All customers joining the Tony Ferguson Weightloss Program should read the information below acknowledging any medical conditions or medications where necessary.

Customers that have any of the conditions listed below ARE NOT SUITABLE for the Program:

  • Pregnancy/Breastfeeding
  • History of an eating disorder (anorexia or bulimia)
  • BMI of 21 or less

Customers with any of the conditions listed below MUST HAVE WRITTEN CONSENT from their Doctor or Specialist before commencing the Program:

  • Diabetes Type 1
  • Children (under the age of 16)
  • Transplant patients
  • Kidney/liver/heart failure (protein or fluid restriction)
  • Major organ surgery if less than 3 months post operation
  • Post childbirth: if less than 6 weeks post-birth (providing the mother is NOT breastfeeding)

While losing weight on the Tony Ferguson Weightloss Program customers with the following conditions will be able to join the Program however, we strongly advise you to consult your healthcare professional e.g. doctor, pharmacist or dietician. A MEDICAL FOLLOW UP Form will be issued for you to give to your doctor with every 10-20lb of weight loss and if you are a mail order customer, you will receive a follow up call every four weeks to ensure continued good health whilst following the Program.

  • Angina
  • Anticoagulants (Coumadin or Warfarin)
  • Cancer
  • Cardiac arrhythmia
  • Chest pain (undiagnosed) or severe shortness of breath
  • Celiac disease and malabsorption diseases (e.g. lactose/gluten intolerance)
  • Crohn’s Disease
  • Depressive illness
  • Diabetes Type 2
  • Epilepsy
  • Food allergies or sensitivities
  • Gallstones
  • Gout
  • Heart disease/heart attack/coronary bypass surgery
  • Hemochromatosis (abnormal iron metabolism)
  • High blood pressure or high blood cholesterol
  • Liver or kidney disease
  • Major organ surgery: 3-6 months post operation
  • Medications e.g. anti-depressants, thyroid, steroid medications
  • Medications that contain: Mono-amine oxidase inhibitors; Lithium
  • Any special medically prescribed diet for health problems
  • Any other illness/medical conditions you are being treated for
